Our Chapter

Clarisse Thomsen
Kappa Alpha Theta President

Welcome to Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Nebraska! The Rho Theta sisterhood is an incomparable experience of friendship, love, and loyalty that builds an invaluable support system not only within our house, but also through Theta women worldwide.

Kappa Alpha Theta was founded in 1870 and proudly holds the title of the first-ever Greek letter fraternity known among women. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow Kappa Alpha Theta exists to nurture each member throughout her college and alumnae experience, and to offer a lifelong opportunity for social, intellectual and moral growth as she meets the higher and broader demands of mature life.

Members of Rho strive for the highest scholarship and the widest influence for betterment throughout our community. We are involved in activities throughout the Lincoln community, on campus, and within our own chapter. We have traveled the world through study abroad programs, created connections with business leaders through internships, and held leadership positions in many organizations on campus. Rho Thetas keep their schedules busy, but always find time to strengthen our sisterhood and have fun.

As President of Rho, I couldn't be more proud to call myself a Theta. I am humbled daily by the accomplished, hilarious, and beautiful women around me. Your Theta sisters become your best friends. Whether you need a study break, a running buddy, or someone to laugh with, you will never have to go far to find a Theta. Theta love truly lasts a lifetime. We hope you enjoy exploring our website and getting a feel for what life as a Nebraska Theta is all about!

Theta Love and Mine,
