Kappa Alpha Theta selected CASA as its national philanthropy in 1989. CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, helps abused and neglected children in the court system. All of the money raised between our two annual philanthropies affects the immediate community by being donated to the Lancaster County CASA program.
This spring, we will hold our sixth annual KATwalk for CASA. The KATwalk is a fashion show featuring models from the Greek community. Local boutiques and businesses participate by donating clothing and food for the event. The KATwalk is a fun way to incorporate fashion, food, and entertainment in order to support a great cause. The event this year was held on April 18th in the City Campus union.
This fall marks the arrival of the annual 5K for CASA! The 5K race brings together Greek and non-Greek student participants, as well as many other participants from the Lincoln community to support a great cause. Thetas love running in the race, cheering on participants with signs, and handing out refreshments after the race! First place finishers along with the Greek house with the most participants are awarded great prizes.
